"Terrible service attitude by the first receptionist. The room was not ready at my arrival (well after check in time) and he didn't explain what happened and how long I had to wait. He wasn't apologetic at all and even cared about the guest. I had to come back later and finally got the room. The second receptionist was way more professional. Great location close to Chow Kit monorail."

"Our 3rd time here but this time we were disappointed with the check in process. We arrived a bit late, almost 10pm. There's no one at the reception 😕 we rang the bell, call the hotel but there's no answer. After 20 minutes, one guy came out of nowhere. Not even a single sorry, he gave us the key and the rest is history 😂 Other than that, this hotel will always be our favourite because near the eatery, also a walking distance to Titiwangsa station (MRT, star LRT and monorail)."

"Went there with my family and they gave us a room which are smelly (like real bad) ( the smell of a room that haven’t been used for like years, not only that even the pillow got black spot / fungus. And yes, the ceiling room also got fungus. Then we tried to stay there, but we cant, cause the room smells really annoying. At that point i’m just afraid of my skin breaking out. Then we complained to the receptionist and even she got shocked to see the pillow condition. So she offered us another room, which were better. And yeah ofc we agreed. After moving to another room, around 12 in the midnight, WE WERE WOKEN UP TO THE SOUND OF THE GUEST NEXT DOOR ARGUING. THE COUPLES WERE SHOUTING AND SCREAMING TO EACH OTHER. So we tried to call the reception but no one answered. We almost wanted to call the police lol. Imagine having to hear them shouting in the middle of the night for like 15 minutes. So yeah those were our experience of staying at this hotel 😭🤣 Overall : ⭐️⭐️"

"Was very excited when i booked this hotel, afterall it is Banyan Tree that we are talking about, and most importantly, it did not come cheap, so we thought the service would be exceptional. When we first arrived, the friendly porters helped us with our bags, as the front desk was up at the 53rd floor. The front desk guy who served us was very friendly as well. When we asked for a non-corner room, he told us it was not a corner room. But when we went up, it was a corner room. Upon entering the room, there was a very strong smell that lingered in the room and smelled like a room that was cleaned using a dirty mop. After calling the operator to inform about the situation, they did not come right away even after saying they would (this is my first encounter because usually other hotels have the practice of turning up right away when i called). We waited for a long time before we called again. But we had to wait again and decided to leave to inform the front desk of this situation before we went out for our activities. On the night itself, we requested for 2 extra pillows. The staff did not come even after 15-20 mins and so we had to call again and again (even though they said they would). The next morning, we had their breakfast. It was pleasant, but i would say the selections were not that widespread. However, the staff in the restarant were very proactive and friendly. Requested for late check out but the to 12.30pm. All in all, the waiting time for housekeeping was very slow. Sad to say, this hotel did not leave me a very good impression, and rather average, given the price we paid."

"Travellers from Indonesia. Stay : 5 Night ( Early Jan 2025 ) Room type : Cool corner king room. I couldn't sleep well, our room was on the 15th floor, above a pub like a discotheque. On New Year's Eve, we heard very loud music from night until morning 😭 The hotel seemed to have made a mistake in giving us this room, because we came as a family, but were given a room where we couldn't sleep well everynight. The room size is approximately 50m2. standard room size. if you are a family with lots of stuff like us, this hotel is not hotel for that. the room size should be OK, but the room design is a bit complicated, so the room becomes cramped. This hotel bed is comfortable and soft, suitable for young people. Room with amazing view : front is twin towers and pool side. And right side view is KL tower. Breakfast : buffet, various types of food, good taste. Perfect location for shopping. across from suria klcc mall , twin tower and aquaria. Left side : Nasi Kandar open 24 Hours. I wont back stay here if im back as family trip."

Getting Around Kuala Lumpur

Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia, welcomes a multitude of international visitors annually. Most international flights arrive at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL).

Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KUL)

Location: Situated in the southern part of Selangor, roughly 60 kilometers (37 miles) from the city center.

Go to the city center: The airport is connected to downtown Kuala Lumpur via the KLIA Ekspres, a high-speed train that takes you to KL Sentral Station in just 28 minutes. Alternatively, you can take Airport Shuttle Buses, Express Coaches, or Taxis directly into the city.

Tips: If you have an early or late flight, consider staying at one of the nearby hotels that offer airport transfer services to enhance your comfort.

Batu Caves

Have you ever seen a temple carved right into a massive limestone hill? Batu Caves, a must-visit for anyone who loves a little bit of history, culture, and a good hike! Imagine scaling 272 steps (don't worry, it's totally doable) to reach the golden Hindu temple at the top. The views from there? Absolutely breathtaking! Plus, keep your eyes peeled for monkeys – they're the resident wildlife stars here.

Tips: Since Batu Caves is quite far from the city center, about 20 km (12 miles), if you want a more relaxed experience, why not stay at one of these nearby hotels, like The Concept Hotel KL - Batu Caves, Lavana Hotel Batu Caves and Agape Hotel Selayang?

ZZen Kai TingHad a pretty great stay, absolutely love the private pool in the room! Petrina was also super helpful in getting us the room earlier, appreciate it! Great location as well, <10mins walk to pavilion! However, just a couple of points to take note: 1) Although it’s stated that it’s newly opened in 2024, it however doesn’t seem very well-maintained. 2) Although we activate the do not disturb, our room was still cleaned and entered when we are not around. 3) Deposit needed is on the higher side, RM800 when I stayed for 2 nights. Just be prepared if you do not have CC and need to use cash.

JJ6ffThis hotel offers a comfortable and convenient stay, complete with an impressive breakfast spread and proximity to nearby amenities, ideal for guests who enjoy walking. Its location is particularly advantageous, providing easy access to local attractions and services. A standout feature is the thoughtfully designed bathroom, which boasts an efficient layout that prevents water from pooling on the floor, a detail I greatly appreciated. The combination of practical, well-maintained spaces and the hotel’s overall functionality makes it a solid choice for travelers seeking comfort and convenience. While the walkable distance to surrounding facilities may vary depending on personal preference, the hotel’s strengths in cleanliness, organization, and hospitality ensure a pleasant experience. But I left my shirt there and they not yet get back to me . Hmmmm haha

EErny Rusyidahdecided to give this hotel a try despite the mixed reviews about this place. so heres my take on Riveria City KL Sentral by Archos! lets start with the pros of this place; - this hotel is located VERY near to their Monorel/Monorail Station, Tun Sambanthan. This lime green Monorail line can bring you to the most visited places like Berjaya Times Square (Imbi Station), Pavilion/Lot 10/Starhill/Farenheit88 (Bukit Bintang Station). this hotel is also located near KL Sentral Station! if you wish to travel elsewhere, KL Sentral offers various transportation options towards almost anywhere you want to travel to as thats like their MAJOR metro/train hub! Grab rides are also easy to find in my opinion, if youre lazy to walk 3 mins to the Monorail Station, you can always book your Grab rides to your desired destinations. - another pros of this hotel, you get quite a sweet view of famous landmarks of KL (Petronas Twin Towers, Menara KL and Merdeka 118 - the 2nd tallest building in the world). best view is to go up to their Sky Pool at night and you get that nice cool breeze and city view of KL. if youre lucky and you have sharp eyes, you can actually see Genting Highlands too in the distance!! - another pros of this place, as a solo traveller, the rooms are very minimalist and spacious! theres aircon and fan options, TV offers a Netflix, Youtube and other streaming apps to watch, comfy and bouncy beds, a small kitchen stove with simple kitchen appliances & cutlery + a kettle! okay so thats all the pros for me. now heres the cons of the place; - the waiting for the lifts. when i read some reviews here, a lot of them said the lift waiting time is soooo long. before i got here i did think to myself, ”man how bad can it be?”. well, now i get it. the building itself is shared by other hotel partners who are under Riveria City KL as well. if i remember correctly, there are 3 or 4 different counters to check-in and out from. so with that in mind, there are 54 levels in total with 4 lifts for the entire building, 1 of the lift i assume is used for staff members ONLY or they labelled it as ”lift bomba”. check-ins are a breeze but waiting to go up to your rooms is not. imagine after a long day out, youre tired and sweaty, all you want is to quickly get into your rooms to shower and rest, but the lift is not cooperating. for that, yes it sucks. and to go down from your level to the lobby is the same. it does take ages for the lift to arrive. so you have to go out slightly earlier if you have plans for the day. - another cons of the hotel, is cleanliness. theres no room service for my room, im not sure about the others, theres a notice in the room that states we cant throw our rubbish outside of the room for the room service attendant to clear. with that info, i was not told where to throw my rubbish if my bins were full. i did see some guests bringing their rubbish in blue bin bags with them when they left the hotel. assuming we have to throw our rubbish outside, i went to the nearest green bin i can find which is near the Tun Sambanthan Station and disposed my rubbish bags there. apart from this, my room was slightly dusty. what i always do if i enter a hotel, i'd use a tissue to do a quick swipe of tables, chairs and bed's headrest, thats how i knew my room was not cleaned or dusted when i came. this hotel is very nice, very conveniently located, and affordable too! not gonna lie, i might come back again for my solo trip for my birthday!

JJenchingTropicana The Residences offers a convenient stay in Kuala Lumpur, especially for those who want to be near Suria KLCC. The location is strategic, with just a 25-minute walk to Pavilion Bukit Jalil. Service is good, with a dedicated customer service number for requests like mineral water, and a RM200 deposit is required upon check-in. While the cleanliness is acceptable, the biggest downside is that the swimming pool is currently under repair. On the bright side, a free washing machine is available for guests, adding extra convenience to the stay.

MmandrewjWe had a pleasant stay here. It is located strategically at Chow Kit Road. Check in was fast. The room was clean and comfortable, well equipped though noise from the staff room at level 6 was occasionally heard. Breakfast while limited. We stay here during Ramadan month. I assumed the chef would prepare early in the morning. Nothing special about the food. There were plenty of local dishes like Nasi Lemak, Indian cuisine and western. The staff were professional and courteous always ready to assist- a smile is the universal welcome. For budget- conscious travelers seeking convenience and comfort, this hotel is a worthy choice. You get what you pay for- and perhaps even a little more. In conclusion, I will consider staying here on the next visit.

TThe.snacking.gypsyLocated about 45 minute drive from the airport, this is one of the biggest properties I have seen in all of Kuala Lumpur and I was staying on the 33rd floor in block B. The room was quite big with a kitchenette, a double bed, a big bath and the view was absolutely stunning both during the day and night. The swimming pool is located on the eighth floor and is massive and the staff are really kind and will try to accommodate every thing possible for you. I really loved staying here. Initially when I checked in - I felt like the AC was not cooling the room but later realise that it was an extremely hot day as a result of which the AC was not able to handle it however it was not an issue for the other days of my stay.
